FAQ자주 묻는 질문Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most. If you have others, please ask us at the counseling.
What is Golki?
Golki (also spelled Kolgi or Korugi, and written コルギ in Japanese) is a Korean beauty method that combines traditional Korean folk practice and Eastern medicine. The word means “bone (gol) and energy (gi)”. By pressing along the bones and loosening the muscles with the hands, it helps circulation and lymph flow, and is used to refine the look of the face line. In facial Golki we work around the cheekbones and jaw to ease tension and support the face line.
Is Golki painful?
We press the right spots with suitable pressure to release tension and stiffness. Some guests dislike pain and others like firm Golki, so we ask your preference and adjust. If you are new to Golki, we can start with a soft Golki that is gentle on pain. Please tell us at any time during the treatment.
Is there any downtime? Will my skin turn red?
Basically there is no downtime. Some guests feel mild muscle soreness for 2-3 days, which fades as the muscles return to a normal state over a few visits. When we use devices such as a gua sha plate or radio frequency, some redness can appear, and it usually settles in about 2 hours.
Can I wear makeup after the treatment?
Yes, you can put on makeup right after the treatment (for the no-peeling herbal peeling and the Mulgwang Peeling).
What is Mulgwang Peeling?
“Mulgwang” (물광) is the Korean word for a hydrated, dewy “water glow” look. Our Mulgwang Peeling gently removes dead skin cells and dirt while working in moisturizing and beauty ingredients, for a smooth, clear-looking finish. It has no downtime, and you can wear makeup right after. It is a salon skin care treatment, not an injection and not a medical procedure.
What is “4D”?
“4D” is the name of the Korean skincare program our contour menu is based on. It is not a medical procedure. We do not use any medical device, and it is different from the “4D lift” performed at beauty clinics.
What is Herbal Peeling?
A skin care treatment using natural herbs. It was developed in Germany in the 1970s as a natural therapy. We apply finely ground herbs and gently massage them in, caring for dead skin cells. Each guest receives a custom formula based on skin analysis. There is a gentle “no peeling” type and a “peeling” type that needs 3-5 days for the skin to settle. We tell you in advance, after looking at your skin.
I have sensitive skin. Can I receive these treatments?
Yes. We can adjust the treatment for each guest, for example starting with the gentle no-peeling herbal peeling. If your skin is extremely sensitive or inflamed, please consult your doctor first and tell us at the counseling.
How often should I come?
We recommend about once a month (28-day cycle), and we suggest the best pace for your skin condition. For Mulgwang Peeling, every 3-4 weeks is recommended.
Can I receive treatments during my period?
Yes. The warmth of the body may increase bleeding for some guests, but the treatment can be received without a problem.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, major credit cards and PayPay. The multi-session Mulgwang courses are cash only.
How do I change or cancel my booking?
Please change or cancel on the booking page by midnight (0:00) the day before. For same-day changes, please call 03-6679-2290 (Japanese). A treatment fee may be charged for same-day cancellations or no-shows.
Do you speak English?
Our staff speak Japanese and can greet you in basic English. During treatments we use a translation app, so you can tell us about pressure, concerns or allergies. The booking page is in Japanese for now (English page: coming soon); please use your browser’s translate function.
Which menu do you recommend for the first visit?
We recommend the first-time “Authentic Korean 4D Face Contour Golki” (70 min, ¥8,000) or the first-time “Trial Herbal Peeling with skin analysis” (70 min, ¥9,000). The counseling and skin analysis are included. If you are unsure, ask us at the counseling.
